The Jamaica National Building Society is this afternoon scheduled to host a meeting with residents in Port Maria, St Mary as part of efforts to assist with recovery from Hurricane Sandy.

St Mary, Portland, St Thomas and sections of St Andrew were the worst affected by the storm which made landfall on October 24.

The meeting will bring together emergency services, such as the Jamaica Public Service Company and government agencies, including the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), to dialogue with residents about their needs and how recovery efforts can be strengthened.

The meeting will be held at the St Mary Parish Church, starting at 3:00 this afternoon.
