The newly-installed Custos of Westmoreland, Reverend Canon Hartley Perrin, has issued a stern warning to Justices of the Peace against the practice collecting fee for their services.

Custos Perrin, who was installed yesterday, told Justices of Peace that he will be putting in place strict measures to deter the inclination for persons to engage in such acts.

He has also urged the public to treat the officer of Justice of the Peace with respect.

Perrin was appointed custos on September 26, 2012, however the official installation ceremony was not held until yesterday.

He replaces Owen Sinclair, who retired as Custos of Westmoreland on August 31, after serving in that position for 11 years.

Custos Perrin is the rector of the Petersfield and Darliston Circuit of Anglican Churches and has been actively involved in community service for decades in the parish.
