Health Minister Dr. Fenton Ferguson says a number of initiatives are in the works to improve the Princess Margaret Hospital in Morant Bay, St. Thomas.

Dr. Ferguson disclosed that the ministry has already sent out to tender for work to fence the hospital.

He further said an architect has been engaged to assist with the plans to renovate the Accident and Emergency section and a new sewage system is to be put in place for the facility.

The health minister said 86 staff housing units are to be built at the hospital.

Dr. Ferguson was speaking at a handing over ceremony yesterday where Canadian-based charity People Bridge Charitable Foundation made a donation to the parish.
