Cocaine weighting more than 34 kilogrammes, with an estimated street value of $31.2 million was seized by the Customs Department this morning in Kingston.

The department says its contraband enforcement team and the narcotics police made the seizure on board a cargo vessel at the Kingston Container Terminal, Port Bustamante.

The police say about 2.00 a.m., the contraband enforcement team conducted a search on a cargo vessel and found three knapsacks with 31 parcels of cocaine.

The packages weighing approximately 34.75 kilogrammes were on the vessel, which transports containers originated from Colombia and destined for Israel.

No one was arrested in connection with the find.

The Narcotics Police are probing the matter.
