The police yesterday evening recovered two firearms in separate incidents in St Ann and St Andrew.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reports that policemen attached to the Vineyard Town Police in St Andrew were on patrol about 7 p.m. yesterday when a man was seen acting suspiciously. He was accosted and searched and a home-made gun with a .38 round found in his possession. He was taken into custody.

While in St Ann, the police arrested three men after they seized a firearm in Beechamville, Claremont in the parish. The CCN says about 11:30 last night, the police found a semi-automatic pistol as they searched a house during an operation in the area. The occupants of the house were subsequently taken into custody.
