The education minister, Ronald Thwaites, has indicated that this year's Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) results are better than last year's.

Thwaites was speaking at the launch of the GraceKennedy Education Run at the Learning Institute of Central Kingston, Tower Street, Kingston.

The GSAT results are to be made available next week.

The minister says he is not expecting any glitches this time around.

More than 43,000 students sat the examinations in March.
