Police arrest man after seizing illegal gun, search on for woman in Westmoreland

A man is now in custody following the seizure of an illegal firearm in Little London, Westmoreland yesterday morning.

According to the Constabulary Communication Network, about 7:30 yesterday morning, a team of officers on operation on Station road in the parish conducted a search of a house where the .38 Smith & Wesson revolver and a .38 cartridge were found in a bag in a room.

The identity of the man in custody is being withheld pending further investigations.

And the police are searching for 27-year-old Danielle Gregory of Lucia Street, Savanna-La-Mar who went missing yesterday morning.

Gregory is of brown complexion, medium build, and is about five feet eight inches tall.

Reports from the Savanna-La-Mar police are that Gregory was last seen at home at about 6:00 in the evening. She was dressed in a black blouse, blue jeans and a pair of black slippers. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Danielle Gregory is being asked to contact the Savanna-La-Mar police at 955-2536, call the police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
