The campaign team of Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) deputy leader Audley Shaw has dismissed assertions of plagiarism by the Andrew Holness camp.

Christopher Tufton says the Holness team is attempting to claim originality to policies developed over a period of time by members within and outside the party.

He also points to roles he and other supporters of Shaw have played in developing policies for the party.

He says it is not enough to demonstrate an understanding of policy, but to show commitment to their implementation.

As a result, he says a debate between Shaw and Holness would serve a useful purpose.
