Attempted break-in forces suspension of services at Christiana tax office

Services at the Christiana tax office have been suspended until further notice, following an attempted break in.

A statement from Tax Administration Jamaica said the police are currently on the scene to carryout investigations.

However, Communications director at the TAJ, Meris Haughton says specific details surrounding the incident are not available at this time.

Haughton says as a matter of policy, money is not kept at offices overnight.

Customers are advised that they may use the Lionel Town tax office or the Mandeville or May Pen Revenue Service Centres to do their transactions.

Taxpayers are also reminded that they may use the online service at jamaicatax-online.gov.jm to pay property tax, business related taxes, and traffic fines.

The Tax Administration says it will give updates on the progress of the investigations and the resumption of services at the Christiana Tax Office.
