Four people are now in police custody in connection with the seizure of ganja worth J$87,500.
Detectives from the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division made the seizure at the ports yesterday morning.
The police say a parcel destined for the Turks and Caicos Islands was searched and three tins containing approximately 4.8 pounds of compressed ganja were seized.
One man and a woman were taken into custody in connection with the find.
Meanwhile the police say about 1:30 p.m., two knapsacks were checked in for a flight destined for Curacao.
They say the bags were searched and about 6.5 pounds of ganja were seized, along with J$52,500.
One man was arrested.
Yesterday’s seizures follow an incident on Monday in which the luggage of a man who was about to board a flight destined for Barbados was searched and ganja weighing approximately 6.2 pounds was found.
He too, was taken into custody.
The identities of those arrested are being withheld at this time.
