PM announces five days of official mourning for Mandela

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has announced a five-day period of official mourning for Jamaica to mark the passing of Nelson Mandela.

The period will run from tomorrow Saturday December 7 through to Wednesday December 11.

The Prime Minister says during the period of official mourning, the national flag shall be flown at half-mast on all government buildings and public offices.

She added that the protocols with respect to flying of other flags will also apply.
