Fiscal stability, national security and justice, infrastructural and human resource development as well as social protection will form the backbone of the Government’s overall strategic priorities for the 2014-2015 financial year.

This was agreed on yesterday; the second day two of the special meeting of Cabinet that has been taking place at Jamaica House since Thursday.

A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister last evening said there was agreement on the overall budgetary limits within the context of the country’s Economic Reform Programme.

Jamaica House says Cabinet also agreed on a schedule to have the 2014-2015 Budget presented before the end of March next year.

It says members also agreed to some timelines that would, in the future years, result in the Budget being presented and approved before the start of the new financial year.
