deCarteret College has won the ninth season of Television Jamaica’s high school singing competition, All Together Sing.

Old Harbour High was placed second and Herbert Morrison Technical High, third.

The winner of this year’s competition has claimed more than $1.5 million in cash and prizes.

On two previous occasions, deCarteret was placed second, but this season the Manchester-based school vowed to go for the top prize.

"It is one of the closest final results in the history of this contest," said host Sanique Vaccianie before the announcement of the results at the Television Jamaica studios in St Andrew.

After the announcement, there was wild celebration.

"The season was definitely one of the best ever,” said musician, Dennis Rushton, who was one of the judges of the competition.
