Development approval delinquents to pay

Published: Wednesday December 11, 2013 | 3:05 pm Comments 0

Persons who have been delinquent in completing applications for development approval from the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) will have to pay $5,000 to have the process reopened.

Mayor of Kingston Senator Angela Brown Burke says there are 113 incomplete applications before the KSAC.

She says the applications were submitted between January and December last year.

The Kingston Mayor noted that the applications relate to persons applying to construct buildings or applying for subdivision approvals.

Senator Brown Burke said despite writing to the delinquent applicants requesting additional information, they have not come forward.

She said the KSAC has recognised that there are improvements to be made to its application processing system and has begun the review to identify areas which will require strengthening.
