Cocaine weighing 44.1 pounds with an estimated street value of J$30m was seized at the Kingston Container Terminal yesterday.

This is the third major seizure within the last five days.

The operation was conducted by lawmen attached to the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division.

The police say shortly after 1 p.m. yesterday, officers were conducting routine checks at the terminal when one rice bag with 19 parcels containing cocaine was found in a container.

The police reported on Wednesday that 193.4 pounds of cocaine valued at US$1.2 million was seized in a container ship at the Kingston Container Terminal.

On Monday, cocaine valued at approximately US$4 million was discovered at the Kingston Container Terminal.
