The police believe they have made progress in the lottery scam fight with the arrest of a man and his common-law wife yesterday in Mount Carey, St James.

It is reported that about 10 o’clock yesterday morning members of the Anti-Lottery Scam Task Force carried out an operation in the community.

The police say during the search of a house occupied by the couple, several sheets of paper bearing identity information of persons who reside overseas and other paraphernalia of lottery scamming were seized.

The Police say they also seized a quantity of cash in US and Jamaican currencies and several high end electronic devices.

They say they have also began a probe into a case of identity theft, as several debit cards bearing various names and issued by overseas banks were seized.
The police say the couple will be questioned in the presence of their lawyer.
