HORSE RACING: Large field expected for McKay Security Trophy race

The 14th running of the McKay Security Trophy race for $180,000 claiming horses will take place at Caymanas Park on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1,
With a large number of entries anticipated, the 1,820-metre race could be divided into two sections.

This was disclosed by promoters Caymanas Track Limited at the launch.

The programme will also feature the annual renewal of the CTL ‘Fan Appreciation Day’ Trophy overnight allowance race over 1,820 metres, as well as the traditional New Year’s Day Trophy race for native bred four-year-olds and up over 1,300 metres.

The CTL's Fan Appreciation Day Trophy is usually run over 2,200 metres but has been reduced to 1,820 metres to ensure a greater number of entries.
