Bunting urges cops to be vigilant

Minister of National Security Peter Bunting is this afternoon warning that despite the unrelenting efforts of the security forces, criminals are still determined to unleash terror on the society.

Bunting’s warning comes in the wake of last night’s shooting incident in August Town, St Andrew when gunmen reportedly shot and killed District Constable Paul White and wounded a female police corporal.

The Gleaner-Power 106 News Centre understands that the injured corporal has since been released from hospital.

In condemning what he called a brutal act, Bunting urged members of the security forces to be extremely vigilant as they carry out their duties and to use all legal means to apprehend those responsible for last night’s attack.

He also urged persons with information to call the police emergency numbers 119, 811, or Crime Stop at 311.
