The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), is this evening condemning the shooting death of district constable Paul Whyte as the latest act of aggression against another member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Whyte, who was attached to the St Andrew Central Police Division, was shot and killed and a female corporal wounded when they were attacked by unknown assailants in August Town last evening.

Its reported that the two had gone into the community to apprehend a wanted man.

In a statement today, INDECOM said it condemns all acts of aggression against any member of the security forces.

The police oversight agency is also urging the residents of August Town and members of the public to come forward and cooperate with investigators and help bring those responsible to justice.
