Errol Greene, the Town Clerk of the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) is seeking to assure that there is more order in the downtown Kingston shopping district this season.

The KSAC has declared Beckford Street a vending zone to handle the extra pedestrians hitting the shopping areas.

Greene says the police have been monitoring the streets to reduce incidents of crime particularly robberies.

However, Greene is advising shoppers to be alert when venturing into downtown Kingston to shop.

The Town Clerk says the KSAC is working with the Urban Development Corporation to improve the shopping experience in the Corporate Area.

Greene says several markets now being rehabilitated will be completed within another 12 months.
