NWC to truck water to some Annotto Bay residents

The National Water Commission (NWC) is to truck water to residents of Annotto Bay, St Mary who have not had any supply for the past four days.

The water disruption is said to be the result of a damaged pump.

Annotto Bay resident, David Norman has complained that the lack of water has affected preparations for the Christmas celebrations.

He says even before the NWC pump at Iterboreale failed last week water supply had been inconsistent.

The NWCs corporate public relations manager, Charles Buchanan says based on his information, the pump was damaged only yesterday.

He says repair work is difficult because suppliers have closed for the holiday period.
