FOOTBALL: JFF saddened by death of FIFA referee

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) says it is saddened by the death of former FIFA Referee, Stephen Brown.

JFF president Captain Horace Burrell expressed condolences to Brown’s family on behalf of the local body.

Brown, who became a FIFA referee in 2007, died on Tuesday morning at the University Hospital of the West Indies. He was 38.

Brown was selected for the FIFA Under-17 Men's World Cups in South Korea in 2009 and Mexico in 2011.

He was appointed numerous times to major tournaments in the Caribbean Football Union and CONCACAF.

At the time of his death, he was a member of the National Premier League Referees Panel.
