FALMOUTH, Trelawny:
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched a probe into the police killing of 36-year-old Omar McLiesh also called Kunte.

McLeish was shot dead by members of the anti-gang police unit, Operation Resilience, in the community of Race Course, near the parish capital, Falmouth last night.

It is reported that McLeish was among a group of men who engaged the police in a gun battle.

He was shot during a reported exchange and taken to the Falmouth Hospital where he died.

The police say the other men escaped but they seized an illegal firearm during the incident.
