The body of Trinidad and Tobago international footballer Akeem Adams who died in Hungary on Monday will be flown home next week.

Adams, who has been in a Budapest hospital fighting to recover from a massive heart attack in September, died two days after suffering a stroke.

Adams, who joined Ferencvaros in August, played just a handful of games for them, including his last match which resulted in a 3-1 victory over Ujpest.

Adamsí family is expected to hold a media conference to announce plans for his funeral when the body arrives in the Trinidadian capital.

Adams had been hospitalised since the heart attack in September and his left leg had been amputated to alleviate circulatory problems.

He died shortly after his mother Ancilla decided against taking the player off life support.
