The police have arrested and charged three men following the seizure of a motor truck and equipment used to operate a mobile gas station in Lawrence Tavern, St Andrew.
Members of the Island Special Constabulary Force made the seizure on December 21.
The men are to appear in the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 15.
Some of the items seized include a petrol pump, 14 motor vehicle tyres, a cable and mechanical tools.
The police say a team was on patrol when a man was seen pumping gas from a tank in the back of a motor truck.
The truck was reportedly retrofitted to look like a gas station.
The police say the man was unable to provide a license permitting him to sell gasolene.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with breaches of the Petroleum Act.
Another man who later turned up at a police station was also arrested and charged.
Meanwhile, the police are warning members of the public not to buy petroleum from unlicensed petroleum dealers.
