ST JAMES, Jamaica:
Principal of the John Rollins Success Primary School, in St James, Yvonne Miller Wisdom, says contrary to police reports on Tuesday, the 14-year-old boy held with a gun is not a student at her school.

And she says the student has no connection with the institution.

At a press conference on Tuesday, a senior police officer told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre that he had just received information that a 14-year-old boy from the school was held with a loaded firearm.

However, Wisdom says given the reported age of the boy, it would have been unlikely that the student would be attending her school which accommodates students up to age 12.

Efforts by the News Centre to contact the senior officer have proved futile as telephone calls to him have gone unanswered.
