Clarendon disaster waiting to happen
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Again, it's necessary to write about the poor condition of a road in northern Clarendon. This road runs from Guinea Corn to Corner Shop via Johns Hall, Silver Spring. It straddles the constituencies of both Richard Azan and Horace Dalley. It has not been maintained for more than 18 years and has become a virtual death trap on which are several dilapidated bridges with potholes and missing railing.
It is the main thoroughfare to markets, high schools, and hospital and emergency facilities, including fire and police stations.
This road is a disaster waiting to happen. Several representations have been made to the relevant authorities, but all in vain. JEEP - the Jamaica Emergency Employment Programme - has not travelled along this road.
