Illegal clinic closed down
Police have closed down an illegal medical clinic operating under what they have described as "an unpleasant case".
The authorities said, acting on a tip off, they went to a street in the capital where they found medical equipment and patients lined up receiving medical treatment.
"There was also a large quantity of medicine, apparently smuggled into the country illegally. An unpleasant case," the police said in a statement.
The authorities said they immediately stopped all activities at the building and called in a qualified doctor to remove the injections with infuse drips from the patients. The clinic was immediately dismantled. Police did not say what the patients were being treated for, but they have advised them to seek medical treatment at one of the regular hospitals in the country.
The authorities did not say also whether anyone had been arrested as a result of the discovery.
