SPALDINGS, Clarendon:

THERE WAS a buzz of excitement at the Spaldings High School in Clarendon last Friday, as students and teachers celebrated Jamaica Day under the theme 'Celebrating Jamaica, Feasting on our Heritage'.

The quadrangle was packed as students sported the black, green and gold colours of the national flag, celebrating Jamaica in fine style.

During the morning's devotion, everything was done with a Jamaican flavour. Even the choruses sung were done strictly to Jamaican beats. Bible verses were done in Jamaican and, before long, all in attendance got the message that the stage was fully set to take on the Jamaican experience.

Cultural agent at the school Teslin Brown told The Gleaner that she was pleased with the response by students, who went the extra mile to ensure that the day was a success.
