A plethora of protruding penises
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Am I the only one incensed and disgusted by the plethora of protruding penises that invade my motor car as I travel through the beautiful gorge that is Fern Gully? Is this really art?
Being someone involved in the arts, I am generally open-minded and given to liberalism. However, I see nothing artistic about the carved male genitalia on display posing as art for tourists to buy, children to gawk at, and locals to shake their heads at. It's simply not funny, but very distasteful and downright lewd. Don't we have laws against this type of display in our country?
As a nation, we complain every day about the hypersexualisation of our children and people in general. We complain about a loss of values and other social ills. With a plethora of painted, protruding penises on display on our roadside, it's no wonder we are unable to impart sensible moral and sexual values to our children.
