The paediatric ward at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) got a much-needed donation last December. Patty giant Tastee donated $1 million worth of equipment and supplies to the hospital.

At a presentation ceremony held on Ward 15, Tastee's Group Chief Executive Officer Ryan Foster said, "The ward has done a lot for children all over Jamaica and we wanted to give back to them in a meaningful way."

Chief executive officer at the UHWI, Dr Cecil White, thanked Tastee for the generous donation and noted that it would go a long way in improving the delivery of care to the children whom it serves daily.

The items donated were nine IV stands, five panel screens, two examination tables, two infusion pumps, two pulse oximeter and one medication cart. Tastee has committed to donate $1 million each year over the next three years to the Paediatric Ward.
