Central Westmoreland ready to vote

Just over 39,360 persons are on the voters' list to be used when the people of Central Westmoreland go to the polls tomorrow to elect a member of parliament to replace the late Roger Clarke.

The Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) says the polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 5 p.m., with the counting of the votes to take place at the St John's Headquarters on Barracks Road in Savanna-la-Mar.

One hundred and fifty polling divisions with 160 polling stations will be open at 51 locations.

Independent candidate Ras Astor Black, Faye Reid-Jacobs of the Jamaica Labour Party and Dwayne Vaz of the People's National Party will be on the ballot.
