Guilt Trip, an open-air restaurant that was founded 13 years ago, began as a pastry shop and has evolved into a full-fledged restaurant offering top -level cuisine.

The mouth-watering pastry utilise the full gamut of seasonal Jamaican fruit and beckon to you from behind a glass-fronted case. The menu items are equally tantalising and include crab-back salads, curried snapper, jerk chicken lasagne and filet of snapper with dried pepper shrimp in a curry sauce.

No stranger to Restaurant week in major cities such as Toronto, Paris and New York, Colin Hylton, principal of the Guilt Trip, did not hesitate to embrace Kingston Restuarant Week. In fact, the concept of a week-long culinary fest excites him. "Once you participate, it whets the appetite for more," he says.

He hopes to be similarly impressed this year as he was last year. "We have an exciting menu, our chefs have put in a lot of hard work and we are planning to make the food do the talking." Hylton has been in the business of food since the 1980s.
