THE DEFENCE Board at its meeting on April 1, 2003 approved the promotion of several Jamaica Defence Force officers to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and confirmed their previous acting appointments.

The promotions and appointments of the following officers were made effective from the dates shown:

Lieutenant Colonel (Commander) George Reynolds, Staff Officer Headquarters Jamaica Defence Force - November 4, 2002.

A naval trained officer, he has held a variety of sea-going and shore-based appointments in the JDF Coast Guard. Commander Reynolds was seconded to the Ministry of Transport and Works in 1997 where he was instrumental in developing the administrative and regulatory framework for the newly established Maritime Authority of Jamaica.

Lieutenant Colonel (Commander) Sydney Innis, Commanding Officer Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard - November 4, 2002

Commander Innis attended the International Ocean Institute's Course on the Law of the Sea and the Implementation of Agenda 21 of the United Nation Conference in Environment and Development 1992. In 1998 he attended the World Maritime University in Sweden and successfully read for a Masters of Science Degree in Maritime Safety and Environmental Protection.

Lieutenant Colonel Derek Robinson, Commanding Officer First Battalion the Jamaica Regiment - November 4, 2002.

Over his 21 years of military service, Colonel Robinson has held major appointments in all the infantry battalions of the JDF to include Second-in-Command of the Second Battalion the Jamaica Regiment and Training Major of the Third Battalion the Jamaica Regiment (National Reserve). His military education includes studies at the Canadian Land Forces Command and Staff College and the US Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Pryce, Commanding Officer Second Battalion the Jamaica Regiment - November 30, 2002;

His senior military appointments include Second-In-Command of the Second Battalion the Jamaica Regiment, Training Major Third Battalion the Jamaica Regiment (National Reserve), and Detachment Commander for the Jamaica Defence Force Training Depot.

Lieutenant Colonel Antony Anderson, Commanding Officer Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing - November 30, 2002.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Defence Administration. During his military service, Lieutenant Colonel Anderson held appointments such as Regimental Signals Officer, Officer in Charge of a Vehicle Light Aid Detachment, Second in Command of the JDF Workshop, Maintenance Officer of the JDF Air Wing and Officer Commanding JDF Supply Depot.
