Alvaro Saborio scored a goal in each half to lead Costa Rica into the semifinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the USA with a 5-1 victory over Guadeloupe yesterday.



Saborio scored in the 16th and 71st minutes.



The victory sends Costa Rico to Thursday’s semifinals for the first time since 2003 against Mexico, who defeated Haiti 4-0 in the second match yesterday.



Defending champions USA and Honduras will contest the other semi-final. Both qualified on Saturday night.



The USA defeated Panama 2-1, while Honduras beat Canada 1-0.
