Jamaica secures first innings points

Jamaica have secured first innings points from bottom place Windward Islands on today’s opening day of their fourth round TCL Group West Indies Under-19 three-day match at the Jamaica Broilers Group Oval.



The host country, replying to Windward Islands’ first innings score of 131 were 185 for four at stumps with Courtney Allen on 36.



Garth Garvey was dismissed just before the close for 35.



Audy Alexander has taken three of the four wickets to fall.



Earlier, Akeem Dewar and Patrick Harty ended with four wickets apiece to restrict Windward Islands. Nicholas Gordon chipped in with two for 23.



Over at JAMALCO, Defending champions Barbados, replying to Guyana’s first innings score of 169, were struggling on 83 for five when stumps were drawn.



And over at Chedwin Park, Trinidad and Tobago were 54 for two at the close replying to Leeward Islands 174.



T&T lead the six-team standings with 30 points; six ahead of joint second place Jamaica and Leeward Islands on 24. They are followed by Barbados on 19, Guyana on 16 and Windward Islands on four.
