Tiger Woods win Fed Ex Cup
Phil Mickelson took the Tour Championship by three shots yesterday in Atlanta but it was not enough to prevent World Number One Tiger Woods from winning the FedEx Cup.
Mickelson shot a final-round 65 to claim victory at East Lake Golf Club on nine under par.
Woods closed with a level par 70 to finish on six under, his second place enough to ensure he ended top of the FedEx Cup standings.
The 33 year old American earns $10 million for his overall success. He finished with a cumulative total of 3,750 points, well clear of second-placed Mickelson, whose total of 2,920 points included 2,500 for winning the season-ending Tour Championship.
