KC back on track

Kingston College recorded a 5-2 victory over hosts Jose Marti to put their title bid back on track as the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup football competition continued yesterday.

As a result of the victory, KC have moved to nine points for third place in Zone ‘B’. The North Street-based school is four points behind joint leaders Norman Manley and St. Jago, who are locked on 13 points each.

St Jago thrashed Haile Selassie 5-nil, while fourth place Ardenne edged fifth place Innswood 1-nil in the other Zone ‘B’ games yesterday.

Over in Group ‘C’, Trench Town defeated Tarrant 4-1; Excelsior outscored Calabar 3-2 while Campion College and Spanish Town battled to a goalless draw.

Over in Group ‘F’, defending champions St George’s College beat Charlie Smith 3-1, Ascot outscored St Mary’s College 3-2 while Eltham hammered Kingston Technical 7-nil.

The competition continues this afternoon at 3:30 with eight games.
