Guyana beat Leeward Islands

Guyana beat the Leeward Islands by an innings and 29 runs early on today’s final day of their sixth-round Carib Beer Series match at the Addelita Cancryn Ground in US Virgin Islands.



Trailing the Guyanese by 211 runs on first innings, the Leewards were bowled out within an hour of the start of play for 182, with captain Runako Morton not out on 96.



The Leeward Islands final scores 204 and 182, while Guyana 415.



Jamaica won the Carib Beer Cup on Saturday, when they defeated the Windward Islands by 10 wickets with one round of matches remaining.



Trinidad and Tobago moved into second place when they completed a nine-wicket victory over Combined Campuses and Colleges yesterday at the 3W Oval in Barbados.



The victory propels T&T to 43 points, one point in front Barbados.



T&T and Barbados will face off in the final round of matches from March 28 to 31 at Guaracara Park in South Trinidad.
