Pakistan sweep New Zealand

World champion Pakistan won a record-equaling seventh successive 20/20 match when they beat New Zealand by seven runs today at Dubai Sports City Stadium in United Arab Emirates to sweep the two-match series.



Umar Akmal was the top scorer with 56 in 49 balls as Pakistan reached 153-5 batting first.



Kamran Akmal chipped in with 26 and Shahid Afridi scored 22.



Ian Butler was the most successful bowler for New Zealand with 3-28.



The Kiwis put on a spirited fight but ended on 146-5, seven runs short of the target. Stand-in captain Brendon McCallum 47 and Scott Styris 43 scored most runs New Zealand.



Paceman Umar Gul, 2-29, was the most successful bowler for Pakistan.
