England won the first of two 20/20 internationals against hosts South Africa by one run on the Duckworth-Lewis method today at the Wanderers Stadium after rain ended play with the Proteas on 127-3.

England had made 202-6 with Eion Morgan top scoring with an undefeated 85 from 44 balls.

Morgan was supported by Paul Collingwood who scored 57 and Jonathan Trott with 23.

Bowling for South Africa, Ryan McLaren ended with 3-33, while Charl Langeveldt and Dale Steyn had a wicket each.

Graeme Smith, 41, and Loots Bosman, 58, hit four sixes each as South Africa raced to 97 inside nine overs, but rain came at 127-3 and there was no further play.

England were rewarded victory as the Duckworth-Lewis calculation had them one run ahead.
