Jamaica Open tees off today

The 46th staging of the 54-hole LIME Jamaica Open, over three days, begins at the Half Moon Golf Course in Montego Bay this morning at 8:00 a.m.

64 golfers from the United States, Canada, Scotland, Italy, Switzerland, Jamaica, Barbados and the Cayman Islands will be vying for the lucrative US$14,000 winner’s purse.

Second place will walk away with US$8,000, third place US$5,500, fourth place US$4,000, fifth place US$3,000 and sixth place US$2,500.

Defending champion, Jamaica’s Johnny Bloomfield will be attempting to make it three straight. He won the tournament in 2006 and 2008. The tournament was not staged in 2007.
