Dwayne Bravo scored an entertaining 104 as the West Indies closed the opening day of the second Test against hosts Australia in Adelaide on 336 for 6.

It was Bravo’s third Test hundred and he slammed 12 fours and a 6 to rescue West Indies from 119 for 3 after they opted to bat.

He was given out LBW on 104, but called back when a replay ruled the ball was going over, but went 4 balls later.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul made 62 before he was given out caught behind after another referral.

Skipper Chris Gayle began in customary cavalier fashion with three fours and a 6 within the first 3 overs, before he was dismissed for 26.

Gayle’s opening partner, Adrian Barath was acrobatically caught in the gully by Mike Hussey for 3, while Ramnaresh Sarwan scored 28 and Denesh Ramdin 4.

The batsmen at the crease are Brendan Nash and Darren Sammy, both on 44 runs.

Doug Bollinger and Shane Watson were the most successful bowlers for Australia with 2 wickets apiece.
