Wheatly mayor again…

Councillor for the Naggo Head Division in St. Catherine, Andrew Wheatley has been selected to continue as mayor of Spanish Town.

Mr. Wheatley was selected by a caucus involving the elected councillors of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) at the party\'s headquarters in Kingston yesterday.

Among those who were eyeing the post of chairman of the council were Devon Wint of the Point Hill Division, former mayor and councillor for the Bog Walk Division, Raymoth Notice and William Sital of the Trojah Division.

During his tenure Mr. Wheatley intends to make solving the traffic congestion in Spanish Town his first priority. He will also be campaigning for improvements to public facilities such as the bus park, regularising outdoor advertising and garbage collection in the parish.
