Jamaica replies to Leewards

Champions Jamaica, replying to Leeward Islands’ first innings total of 188, were 39 for two at the close of today’s opening day of their second round West Indies Cricket Board Regional four-day game at Warner Park in St Kitts.

The batsmen back in the pavilion are discarded West Indies batsman Xavier Marshall for six and Shawn Findlay for 11.

Donovan Pagon and Daren Powell are the batsmen at the crease.

Earlier, David Bernard Junior was the most successful bowler for Jamaica with four for 38 while Nikita Miller supported with three for 54.

West Indies batsman Runako Morton top scored for Leeward Islands with 60, while Devon Thomas got 52 and Omari Banks 39.

Jamaica are joint leaders along with Combined Campuses and Colleges on 12 points.

Barbados, replying to Combined Campuses and Colleges’ first innings total of 213, reached 33 for one.

Trinidad and Tobago, choosing to bat against Guyana, reached 211 for three in their first innings at the tea break in the first ever day/night match in a Regional First-Class Championship.
