JFF to conduct Collection Drive to help Haiti
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) will stage a Collection Drive at the National Stadium on Sunday to help the Haitian Football Federation, which has lost a number of its members following the massive earthquake that rocked that country earlier this month.
The Collection Drive will take place on the day that Jamaica will face Canada in an international football friendly. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 in the afternoon.
Thirty members of the Haitian Football Federation have been confirmed dead and dozens others are missing.
JFF’s President, Captain Horace Burrell said the members of the Salvation Army will be at the National Stadium on Sunday to carry out the Collection Drive.
The Haitian Football Federation’s Chief, Yves Jean Bart said among the dead were administrators, referees, coaches, medical personnel, players and office staff.
