A weakened and less organized Tropical Storm Olga has emerged over the Windward Passage, it is expected to remain north of Jamaica today.

The centre of Tropical Storm Olga is located about 300 kilometers northeast of Morant Point, St. Thomas.

Olga is moving west at about 31 kilometres per hours and this general motion is expected to continue during the next 24 hours.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 70 kilometres per hour with higher gusts.

The center of Olga is forecast to move north of Jamaica and close to eastern Cuba this evening, producing increased rainfall later today and early tomorrow.

The Met Office says strong, gusty winds will also produce rough seas mainly north of the island and small craft operators should continue to exercise extreme caution.
