NRSC call for speedy review of Road Act
The National Road Safety Council (NRSC) is calling for a speedy review of the National Road Safety Act.
Speaking at a council meeting this afternoon, Vice-Chairman of the council, Dr. Lucien Jones, said the review of the legislation could help to reduce the number of road crashes.
Dr. Jones says a submission for the review was made to the Ministry of Transport and Works three years ago.
The Council is also pushing for provisions to prevent the use of cell phones while driving and the dark tinting of vehicles.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Byron Powell from the Traffic Division, believes that a revised Safety Act will help the police to monitor traffic offenders.
