FTC puts limits to ‘unlimited’ plans

The Fair Trading Commission, FTC, has ruled that as of Monday, mobile phone companies may no longer attach conditions to the use of the word ‘unlimited’ in the plans they advertise.



The executive director of the FTC, David Miller says the commission made the decision because of complaints by mobile customers.



According to Miller in many instances the customers are misled by the advertisement, even though the providers have outlined the conditions in the contracts with customers.



Miller says once the ruling takes effect on Monday mobile companies will be prosecuted if they attach conditions to plan the advertise as unlimited:
