The Minister of Investment and Commerce, Karl Samuda, announced that a new chairman will soon be appointed for Jamaica Trade and Invest, JAMPRO.

The deputy chairman, Raymond Miles is now acting in the post, following the resignation of Gassan Azan on Wednesday.

Mr. Azan resigned after the Jamaica Pubic Service Company (JPS) confirmed that the Megamart stores in Portmore and St. Andrew were stealing electricity.

The JPS said devices were installed at the two Megamart outlets, which tampered with the electricity metre readings. The company also said it is working with the management of the Megamart stores to collect outstanding payments.
